Rantings of a Rabid Yu-Gi-Oh Fan (ha ha!)
You guys first, as usual:
Tetsiguia: I never noticed that Para has 6 fingers! I'll have to look for that
next time I see him!
And I'll bet Pegasus has a Blue Eyes card, but maybe he
leaves it out of his deck. It's more fun to just toy with opponents than blast
them away.
Tali Ali: Ooh! *burns Rebecca's Teddy* I'd happily do that!! I was wondering where her grandfather was too...
Mononoke_Princess: Let's get a few things straight. DON'T threaten my other reviewers. Especially for something they didn't even say. The person you were talking about (who shall remain nameless) said nothing about Yami being evil. That's a rumor I found somewhere, and s/he merely commented on it. So if s/he gets even ONE flame from you, I will hunt YOU down. Be nice.

It's amazing how many common things are really sick and perverted! ^_^
And about
Malik's Yami... For those who don't know, here's some background. Malik had an
abusive father who kept him locked in the basement with his sister Isis and
their servant Rishid. One day Malik just had to get out of there, so Isis and
Rishid covered for him. He went to town and found a magazine with a picture of a
motorcycle in it. Wow, he wanted that motorcycle. Then Shadi came. He gave Malik
the Rod and told him something like "Someone close to you will pay for your
presence here in blood." So Malik ran home with the Rod. He found his father
whipping Rishid within an inch of his life. All Malik's anger, hate, and fear
formed into what we call Yami Malik, who promptly killed his father. When Malik
came back into control, he had no idea what had happened, but he was really
upset that his father was dead. Shadi showed up again and told Malik that his
father's death was the will of the Pharaoh. That's why Malik wants to kill Yugi.
But anyway, back to your question. I think you'd have to be a lot more than just
really pissed off to make your own yami. I have a yami, though! Indigo's my
yami, who is the personification of everything I'd like to be. I don't know how
I made her, though.
SAN: Wow, your review sounded so official! You make yourself seem so important
that I feel honored that you reviewed my work! I feel like I should have heard
of you. And I'm sorry I leave so much time between updates, but I have to get
enough for a good amount of stuff. Two weeks seems like enough time to gather up
lots of good rants.
And oh yes, Seto is simply adorable when he smiles! Aww...
He looks so sweet!
And you think ANYTHING'S going through Jonouchi's mind? On or
off the camera? I don't know about that...
And finally... you said you'd see me
at the writers' table? I didn't know there was a table! ^_^ Where is it?
Mnata and OdesseyGurl: I'm glad I could help! I still haven't found the right kind of leaves to make a Yugi-head, but I will!
Michelle: I don't know if I'd call Yugi a loser even though he gave that great card to the brat... I still like him a lot! I did want to strangle him for a while there, but oh well. I got the impression that the Ties of Friendship card fixed the Blue Eyes card. But did she get the Blue Eyes card!? That's horrible! She doesn't deserve any of that!
Alyssa: You're right about the song. That strange unintelligible part DOES say "your move." It'd be nice if it were understandable, though!
LeoBubbleGum: Hmm... I can see Shadi in a kilt. But still with the turban. And yes, it is rather freaky.
Macavity: I don't think Shadi was in the dark as to who Yami was. He hinted at
it. He's not stupid or anything. I think he's just not one to come out and say
things like that. Maybe. I don't know. When in doubt, blame the dubbers.
And
about the Seto/Yami rivalry... I think Seto could be the rival of anyone who's
good enough to beat him. He's a rival just by his nature and personality.
Lily22: I'll end up saying this many many times, but thank you so much for that
script!! It's helping me so much! You rule! ^_^
I thought it was amazing that
little tiny Yuugi could pull Shadi up out of the hole. I mean, Shadi's not
amazingly big, but Yuugi's so little!
And I think after he finished with Yuugi,
Shadi went to search for the real thief. In my Shadi story, when he's done in
Yuugi's mind, he's going on to Bakura! That should be fun, I have some plans for
that confrontation!
Lori Kimaya: Ah, my area doesn't get UPN. No Digimon for me... And for the answer to your Malik question, see his background up in my comment to the Clow Hatter. I'm not sure why Shadi said that, but my own explanation is that the spirit of the Scales took him over and made him say it! Go read my story "Three In One Combo!" everyone! It's about Shadi and the Items, and it's really fun!
Random Rockstar: Bakura has an occult-themed deck. It's made for things like tarot readings. Build a deck based on the tarot deck and you may have better luck.

And now for my stuff:
- If I found an eyeball in my soup, even one that looked like the Sennen Eye, I don't think I'd eat any more.
- If you listen to Ryou's dubbed voice, you can tell the accent's fake.
- When Pegasus brings Honda, Bakura, and Anzu into that place with the hooded figures playing a Shadow Game, where was that? It wasn't Egypt, because there was that picture of Cecelia. I think it might have been Pegasus's mind or soul room.
- Was anyone else as annoyed as I was when Yuugi spent a whole episode not listening to Yami?
- Doesn't anyone know how to play a card in attack mode without actually attacking with it?
- I think I've figured out why Weevil looks so creepy and unappealing. It's the shape of his eyes. The hair style plays a part too, but as Xellos from Slayers has demonstrated, boring hairstyles can be overcome. The same may be true of Bandit Keith, but in a different way. There's just something slightly wrong about his eyes.
- You'd think that Seto could keep a better picture of Mokuba in his locket!
- I wonder if Bakura missed the helicopter back from Duelist Kingdom since he stayed behind to gloat about getting the Eye. Maybe that's why he disappears for a while after that...
- Pegasus (or Bakura) should steal Rebecca's soul. If she has one.
- Rebecca declared herself "national champion." Since when?
- If Yami had faced Rebecca, he could have used Mind Crush on her. Alas, missed opportunities...
- I'm so glad Rebecca only lasted for two episodes! She's worse than Tea.
- Seto makes a cute video game character! So does Yugi!
- Is Kemo Pegasus's thug or part of KaibaCorp's staff?
- If you don't count the hair, Yuugi's even shorter than Mokuba!
- The Clown Zombie's really nasty and creepy!
- Seto should have kicked the Big 5 (the board of directors) out before he tested his virtual reality game.
- Mokuba's a cool duelist! And so cute! Sweet too! He helped a little old lady across the street on his back!
- The virtual town looks like it was based on Egypt.
- What was that food in the virtual town that Jonouchi was disgusted at? Dried rats or something?
- What was with Honda's "guess my facial hair" game? Did the dubbers make that up, or did he really say that? I know it's easy to blame the dubbers for everything, but you'd be surprised at how werid some of the origional stuff is in lots of anime.
- In the virtual reality game, was the guy who gave Yuugi the pig mask a frog, a toad, or what?
- Jonouchi in a pig mask is very appropriate!
- They'll have to change the opening song for Battle City. Just a few more weeks. I just keep telling myself that...
- Is anyone dressing up as an anime character for Halloween? I thought Shadi would be easy, but I don't have the stuff with me at school. He'd be easy if anything I can cosplay at ever comes to my area, though... I need to make myself an Ankh!
- Some people don't think Seto has a sense of humor, but to design those dueling masks, he'd have to have one.
- Any bets on how they'll explain Malik's motivation? I think they'll leave out the part about his father's abusiveness and have his yami just send his father to the Shadow Realm or something.
- If the virtual reality game was reprogrammed to beat Seto's deck, Mokuba should have been at a disadvantage too. Unless it was just programmed to beat Blue Eyes White Dragons.
- Yuugi ends up saving Seto quite a bit, doesn't he? I'll bet that annoys poor Seto...
- We know that all us rabid fangirls drool over the Dark Magician, Celtic Guardian, etc. So who's your favorite female card? I like the Change of Heart, Witch of the Black Forest, and Queen of the Autumn Leaves.
- How long did the Big 5 plan to keep Seto in virtual reality? Even with the best plan in the world, it couldn't go on forever. Mokuba's not a weak-willed fool or anything.
- That Mokuba-princess's voice was pretty bad.
- I know Seto loves Mokuba, but turning him into a princess is rather disturbing.
- What kinds of masks would Yuugi and Mokuba have gotten in the virtual game's tournament?
- The Witty Pahntom has a weird version of Pegasus's voice.
- Yuugi's so cute in armor! Mokuba too! And Jonouchi's outfit suited him, even if it wasn't as cute on him.
- If the Witty Phantom can talk, can the other humanoid monsters talk too?
- Did you notice how quickly the princess got back into her big, poofy, probably corseted dress while the ancient ruins came back? Do you think the Time Wizard had anything to do with that?
- I'll bet Seto modeled the Witty Phantom's character after Pegasus.
- Did you know that the Witty Phantom's Japanese name is "Death Satan Greater Demon"? And can you tell I like him a lot?
- Have you noticed that the Ankh is the only Sennen Item without the symbol of the Eye of Horus on it? I wonder if that means anything...
- Back in Duelist Kingdom, did everyone but Yuugi, Jonouchi, Mai, and Keith get disqualified? They must really suck!
- I know Weevil's creepy, but did you ever get the feeling that he's a little crazy too?
- Why did Yuugi send out his Mammoth Graveyard against Weevil's Killer Needle when he knew their attack powers were the same?
- Mai must have the best nose in the world to be able to distinguish 40 separate perfume scents in a pile of all of them.
- I wish they could change strategies when their opponents tell them that what they're doing won't work. Like when Pegasus told Yuugi he had a way to beat his Komouri Dragon.
- When Mako Tsunami sent all his monsters after yuugi's Giant Soldier of Stone, what happened to his Giant Jellyfish?
- Mokuba said "Those suits kidnapped my big brother!" which sets off a whole conversation about the suits. Just the suits, not the people in them. ^_^
- Mai only snatched one Niwatori card. So how did four Niwatoris appear?
- Mokuba looked happy to see Mai when she unmasked at the virtual tournament with Jonouchi. Had he even met her before? I don't think so.
- The Witty Phantom reminds me of someone besides Pegasus, but I can't think of who. Probably from another anime. Does he remind anyone else of someone else?
- Do the names "Adina" (the princess) or "Sinlau" (her kingdom) have any significance, or are they random?
- Mai told her Dark Witch to "return" after killing 2 flying Duel Monsters. What is this now, Pokemon?
- In the virtual graveyard, none of the zombies got field power bonuses, but the "Call of the Haunted" card seemed to be in play the whole time.
- They'd better not make a habit of only showing one new episode on Saturdays!
- Wow, did you guys see how hostile Seto was towards Yuugi? I didn't realize he hated Yuugi THAT much...
- Seto must have studied almost everybody's duel at Duelist Kingdom for the virtual game. Except he finished most of it before he even went to Duelist Kingdom. Confusing.... Maybe the Big 5 programmed that. Anyone know?
- Do you think the fact that Jonouchi sacrificed his Red-Eyes Black Dragon and his life points for Mokuba will make Seto respect him even a little?
- I love Seto, but he's a bit too stubborn for his own good.
- Even if the Dragon Master Knight is an insanely strong card, it still looks like nothing more than the Black Luster Soldier standing on the Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon. How boring.
- Where did Mai, Jonouchi, and Mokuba go when they lost their life points in the virtual game? I assumed that they came out of it, until they came back. Were they in the Graveyard? Or just unconscious somewhere?
- If you saw Kids' WB's dumb "Halloween Duel of Screams," you'll remember that Yugi lost to Jade in the final round. They don't seem to understand Yugi at all. By his very nature, he wins. At everything. Those fools...
- I really miss Bakura. I hope he comes back soon!
