Yami Bakura: Tch, you idiotic mortals... Indigo, Queen of Games, and Seena STILL don’t own Yu-Gi-Oh!. I know mortals are stupid, but GODS! By now, even YOU should know who owns Yu-Gi-Oh! and who doesn’t! Besides, if any of these fools owned the show, they would have aired my Duel by now...
Setine: *blinks* Your favourite line is, “I am only here to kick a** and chew gum”? Remind me again where that was; I don’t remember hearing anyone say that in the original version!
I’ve never seen The Matrix! Either one of them. They’re rated “R”, and my parents have a habit of sheltering me from such things. *sighs* How depressing! But I’ll see it soon enough... ah, and something that I found quite amusing - there was this poster for The Matrix Reloaded, and it had binary code and katakana in the background! But what really struck me as funny was that the katakana was all written... backward. Facing the wrong direction! Like what would happen if you flopped a manga and didn’t take out the dialogue first, that’s what it would look like. The english letters and numbers were all facing the right way, though... Heh, go figure!
Oh, there’s a Pegasus fan clique!? Eee, cool! If you get the URL, tell me, because I’ll join! ^_^
sakuya: *sighs* Yeah, bummer, isn’t it? Baka dubbers. But they really COULD have done far worse, so I guess we should be grateful! It wasn’t nearly as bad as the Pandora episodes...
Eep, I don’t know! But I want a sticker, too! We’ll have to bug Queen of Games endlessly now. ^_^
Kirbygurl: After what the dubbers unnecessarily have done, I would be very surprised if no one was annoyed! But yes, we SHOULD be thankful that they didn’t completely butcher it. ...But I think the only reason they didn’t turn the ocean into the shadow realm is because then everyone would be afraid to go on vacations to the shore. ^_^ Oh, sinking to the bottom of the ocean is just as bad... maybe even worse, because your lungs fill up, and you can’t breath, and you suffer for quite a bit. (I almost drowned in a swimming pool when I was little, so I know.) Saws wouldn’t kill you, so I think they’re better. And if you fall fifty flights and go splat, at least the death is relatively quick and painless...
Yeah, Bandit Keith with his finger... *snickers* Oh, I could see Pegasus doing that! ^_^ Pegasus is very, very cool... heh, I squealed like a fangirl the first time I saw him do the thing with the trap door in the floor. He’s awesome! ^_^
Well, people can think whatever they want about Yuugi telling Jounouchi that he loved him. Pfft, but why should WB get sued, anyway? Gay relationships exist all over the place, and that’s not what he meant anyway! Yuugi said, “Jounouchi, daisuki”, NOT, “Jounouchi, aishiteru.” There’s quite a difference!
Yeah... I guess it COULD have been way worse. I still prefer Jounouchi’s mind-controlled voice to his regular one, though!
You’re right, it really wasn’t that bad! There wasn’t even blood dripping down his hand or anything!
Anime*2000: Oh, don’t worry! I forget to do things like putting in my name all the time. ^_^
Yeah, Kaiba asked the goddess of fate for luck as he drew his card, then threw it at the Ghoul. It stabbed him and got stuck in his hand, and he dropped the control. When he dived for it, Kaiba jumped up and attacked. He was very cool! I’ll tell you if I ever see a video clip of it.
Heh, Jounouchi was so worried about saving Yuugi that he completely forgot about himself. How typical. ^_^ But also a bit noble. I don’t know, though; he barely was able to grab Yuugi’s key without going for his first, anyway.
Yeah... I guess some people WOULD have taken it the wrong way, but that’s their problem. ^_^ It’s really what Yuugi said. But I guess it doesn’t really matter now, does it?
Mana-chan: *looks at her e-mail address* Oh, very funny! You have no clue how hard this is, responding to everyone and ranting... you just HAD to leave me a really long review, didn’t you!? I’ll see you tomorrow anyway; can’t I just talk to you then? I have to respond to the reviewers, but I swear you’re just trying to torture me! You KNOW I’m busy as heck, and sick to boot! This is hard enough without you, itoko-chan... but fine. Have it your way, but this means no ice cream tomorrow! ^_^
Yes, maybe we are doing well... I don’t know how I let Indigo trick me into doing this, though!
*rolls her eyes* Small errors in HTMLing happen! And my Japanese is better than yours, so don’t act like you know everything. ^_^
I usually don’t mind dubbed versions, as long as they’re uncut, accurate, and they don’t have messed-up voice actors. But we DO live in America, and we’ve got to deal with it. Though I agree, the road trip is completely awful... ^_^ Hey, wait! The only reason you can read Japanese is because of ME! And even then, you’re not so perfect! *whacks her but grins* Oh, quit bragging...
I don’t know about Queen of Games, but I’m no one’s fangirl! ...At least not in a fangirlish way. I greatly respect and admire many people (Pegasus being one of them), but I’m not one of those people that would glomp him in a dark alley. Heh, my love of good villains has rubbed off on you...
You know, you have a good point on the drug thing. But I don’t like thinking things like that! The Pharaoh is demented enough on his own...
I know! Eee! *grins* I loved that episode. It was the first one of the original series that I watched. Ugh, I’m not sure I even want to see the dubbed version of it anymore...
*laughs* Don’t you tell ME about pronouns! I’m the one who taught you everything you know, remember? But I agree, Yami Bakura’s use of “Ore-sama” for “I” IS pretty darn cool.
FG: You really don’t like that episode, huh? *laughs* Yeah, that dub cut IS pretty pathetic! What’s he going to do, flick Pegasus’ forehead with his finger? *snickers*
It’s sad, that children would even think that way! What a corrupt society we have... *sighs* Well, I guess platonic love just “isn’t cool”...
Fire Pendant: Hi! Welcome back from camp. Hmm, Shizuka doesn’t save Jounouchi until the last episode... but the Jounouchi-Yuugi Duel has been over for a couple weeks now. It’s been reruns, reruns, reruns... *looks depressed*
Hmm... Well, *I* missed the second episode of the Duel (the dubbed version), so if that’s what you’re talking about, I don’t really know. ^_^ But in the original, when Rishid reported the other Ghouls’ failure, he not only snapped, but he whacked Rishid with the Rod. (Not hard or anything; it’s not like he bloodied him! He was just frustrated because of Jounouchi, too.) I don’t know if he did that in the dub or not, because like I said, I missed the second episode.
Oh, I don’t know... I don’t think I WANT to know what kind of a voice they’re going to give poor Yami Mariku! I might actually pity him! If the dub DOES go that far in America, it’s probably going to be cut up beyond recognition... *shudders*
Heh, Rishid’s in the first round of the finals! But he loses to Jounouchi, because he was posing as Mariku and he was trying to prove that he WAS him, so he tried using the Dragon Ra card, but it struck him down... thankfully, he lives! ^_^ He’s unconscious for awhile, though! And Shadi comes back shortly after they first board Kaiba’s Battle Ship... so we’ll be seeing more of him again soon!
It’s really a great Duel that they have! It’s only one episode long, but Yami Bakura has very cool monsters and a good strategy. Eee, so cool! ^_^ Hmm... well, Yami Mariku’s pretty cool (my third favourite), but Yami Bakura’s second to none in my book! ^_^
Lori Kimaya: Rrg, I could rant for HOURS on the dub cuts... but I won’t. It’s just that the edit things that don’t need to be edited, and they make such a stupid mess out of everything! Even tasteful editing isn’t so bad SOMETIMES, but for the love of Ra...
Oh, I have no clue what all that’s about. Quite frankly, I don’t WANT to know. But it’s for certain that they must have bribed the kid, because we all know it’s not for real! What bakas... they probably have a whole script for him to read and everything... how sad! I... GUESS it could be worse, but really not by much!
Oh, they ARE going to be making a real movie? I don’t know much about actors or anything, but I’ll be sure to check it out! Thanks for the URL! (Is it going to be in theaters?)
I haven’t seen any anti-drug stickers, either. That’s Queen of Games’ thing, not mine! We all must ask her where she gets them. I didn’t even get Yu-Gi-Oh! stuff from McDonald’s, when you people said they were out... they were doing Hot Wheels or something! *shrugs* Pegasus COULD be drinking nonalcoholic wine. ^_^ Besides, people say it’s good for your heart to have a glass of red wine every day. But whatever!
*blushes* I’m not in Japan! I only really, really, REALLY wish that I was. *laughs* Indigo doesn’t go to Japan for another couple of weeks. I met her in Springfield, Illinois, since that’s not so far away from where she lives, and my family was visiting Chicago. Oh, if only I could go to Japan!
Hmm... well, I don’t think I was here for it (still on my trip), but I think that’s the second part of the Jounouchi vs. Bandit Keith Duel. Is there any reason you don’t like Duelist Kingdom...?
Ryou Minamoto: I’m glad you like our rants! Most of these are Indigo’s, and she’s far better than I am, that’s for sure. ^_^ But we generally try not to just kick and scream and... rant in that sense, but point out things that aren’t as obvious, or the differences between the original and the dub, and that kind of thing. Though I know that my opinion at least leaks in there sometimes. ^_^ It’s fun, but it’s a LOT of work...
I like Ryou, too! He’s really rather likable, and hard to dislike or stay angry at. I happen to like his yami more, but Ryou’s very cool, too!
cherry: Really? Well, thank you for enjoying our rants! We try! I’ve got to give most of the credit to Indigo, though. ^_^
Honda? A dolphin? *laughs* I see what you’re saying! But dolphins have an image of being friendly, and Honda’s a lying, backstabbing jerk... so I think of him more as a rhinoceros. ^_^ Wouldn’t it be funny if he and Yami Yuugi got into a hair fight?
Yeah, Mariku is-! *blinks* Whoops! *whacks herself and looks guilty* ...He’s good-looking, yes, but I feel more respect and admiration towards him than anything. Really... he’s suffered a lot in his life, and he’s struggling and fighting for better. I can’t help but like such a person, who has a will like that, and an unwillingness to fall or back down. He’s really such an awesome character.
And sorry about the Terrance scare! It wasn’t my doing! *shudders at the thought* The poor guy... I’m just really glad that the dubbers didn’t name him that after all!
Seena: Hmm... well, since I wasn’t here before, Queen of Games was going to rant about the first two weeks of episodes. I only caught a couple of episodes this week (I’m sorry! *sobs*), but I’m asking her to please post them before or after my rants, and to delete this message when she does so. I was going to post them myself, but she didn’t get around to e-mailing me, so I ask that she please post them on her own. Thank you for your patience and your time!
Seena’s rants:
-Can the Ghoul with the Exodia cards summon Exodia if he’s using the monster slots for other monsters? Or can Exodia only be summoned if there aren’t any other monsters on the field?
-Aww, Mokuba’s so cute, wanting to uphold justice! “I’m the commissioner! And I say this Duel is illegal!” ^_^
-Yami Yuugi says, “This Duel’s far from over” - and then complains he only has one turn?
-Oh no, there goes the Pharaoh’s ego AGAIN... *rolls her eyes* People complain about Kaiba’s big ego, but Yami Yuugi is really far worse...
-Ghouls seem to be pretty good at laughing maniacally! ^_^
-“Slim to none”? If the Ghouls’ deck has forty or fifty cards in it, and he uses cards like Jar of Greed, then he at least has DECENT chances!
-Heh, when Yami Yuugi’s form was just a shadow in that shot, the way his jacket flared looked kind of like he was wearing a skirt. ^_^
-Playing that Exodia head wasn’t really necessary - Yami Yuugi has two monsters on the field - so one could get the Exodia head, and the other could direct attack and win anyway.
-There really wasn’t any need to bring back Chimaera...
-That direct attack was a bit over-excessive! That was just cruel and unusual punishment... the guy only had 1000 life points!
-If the ink could rub off, then why did the cards need to be destroyed? Baka Yami Yuugi, ripping valuable cards!
-The “Millennium Symbol”? That’s the Eye of Horus. I won’t go into details, but in the ancient Egyptian legends, Set (my favourite deity of all time, the god of chaos and thunder) and Horus (Osiris’ son... it’s a really long story) had an epic battle where Set pulled out one of Horus’ eyes; thus, the missing eye that Set pulled out is called the Eye of Horus.
-That’s “weird”? Couldn’t Jounouchi come up with a stronger word to describe the situation?
-Hey, Jounouchi wasn’t in the Duelist Kingdom finals, he was in the SEMIFINALS...
-What’s Yami Yuugi GONNA say besides that he’ll take good care of Jounouchi’s Red-Eyes? That he’s going to trash it completely? ^_^
-Oh, funny! I recorded this episode on our Tivo machine, and the description is: “‘Espa Roba - the ESP Duelist, Part 2’ At the hospital, Tristan tells Serenity that Joey is winning the Duel”. Nothing about Jounouchi’s match at all! ^_^ That’s great! Even the description-writer people peg Honda as a liar! -Jounouchi can PLAY trap cards with Jinzo on the field; they just won’t work...
-“Maybe”, Jounouchi says? Pfft, what ELSE could he possible mean to do with his Time Wizard and Baby Dragon combo?
-Doesn’t Honda feel just a LITTLE guilty for lying to Shizuka?
-Hey, do you know what I just noticed!? In the WB eyecatch (the things that are at the end/beginning of commercial breaks), there’s a picture of Yami Yuugi from the “first season”! (That’s the show based on the first seven manga or so that doesn’t revolve around Duel Monsters). It’s the picture with the yellow-orange background that’s on the wall of the building during the clip where the kids some Blue-Eyes White Dragon and run away. The animation style is SLIGHTLY different, but the cards Yami Yuugi is holding are red and purple - the ones used in “season 1”! I wonder if I’m the first person to notice...
-Jounouchi says he “can’t lose like this”? Well, he COULD lose another way... ^_^
-Honda and Shizuka are watching! Heh, no pressure, Jounouchi!
-Gosh, what mean people Those bystanders were so mean to Espa Roba when he lost! What jerks!
-Yami Yuugi’s just... walking down the middle of the street like that? The sidewalks aren’t good enough for him anymore? Pfft, Mr. Dramatic Pharaoh... wouldn’t it be funny if he got hit by a car? ^_^
-Aww, everyone’s staring at poor Silent Doll... I wonder if he can even tell?
-Silent Doll runs strangely, doesn’t he? He keeps his fingers spread out and doesn’t let his arms swing at his sides. ^_^
-Yuugi has the “heart of a Pharaoh”? Some compliment... based on his father’s (and many of his own) past actions, that isn’t saying much!
-Yami Yuugi’s taunting Mariku... but you’d think he’d take whatever lead in the Duel he could get without complaining!
-If Mariku says that his monster is a good defense, why shouldn’t Yami Yuugi believe him? Like Mariku would just play a weak monster, and then brag that it was a good defense... Pfft!
-Heehee, Yami Yuugi looks so scared by Mariku’s plan! *sighs* It’s just too bad that it didn’t go through... *laughs* I’m rooting for Mariku all the way! ^_^
