Oh, and I think it’s pretty obvious, but you can expects a lot of spoilers here. So if you don’t want to learn about future episodes and manga volumes and things like that, then you might want to go back!
Trupana: I know, isn’t Mariku so much better with a good voice? I wish they’d keep something like that for him!
Lori Kimaya: Nope, I’m going to be a camp counselor this summer, then if the school accepts me, I’ll spend the fall semester in Japan. Eee, so fun! ^_^ But it’ll be a lot of work, too.
Ah, that might make sense too… And it would make a tearful but fitting end. But Yami Yuugi IS a completely different person from Yuugi. There aren’t two Yuugis, he and the Pharaoh’s spirit just happen to be sharing a body. I think people (both viewers and characters) are far too used to the idea of the characters having a “light” side and a “dark” side. They’re completely separate people.
Well most peoples’ voices got better… I guess poor Yami Bakura wasn’t one of those people!
No, at least two other people here like Yami Yuugi very much! Should I throw him to you so you can fight over him? ^_^ Which body part would you want? I think his hair would make an impressive trophy…

You’ve got a point about Disney… And Miyzaki’s films have all been well-dubbed. Ha, that would be very interesting, to see Disney dub Yu-Gi-Oh! I wonder how it would work out. I doubt it would be any worse! ^_^

Rrg, I HATE it when the dubbers try to make everyone either pure good or pure evil! That’s just not the way things are! That’s why we get all these one-dimensional characters… It’s horrible! Bad enough that Americans do that to their OWN cartoons… They don’t have to ruin perfectly good anime too!

Kahtiihma: Yeah, I know Yami ripped up the Rare Hunter’s Exodia cards because he was cheating, and they were fake, but still! That was a pretty nasty thing to do! And he didn‘t make them at home, Mariku and his Ghouls made them.
You know, it’s surprising how few voice clips there are of the real Mariku! That’s a shame, because his dubbed voice is just so WRONG for him!
No, Ryou doesn’t cut himself! You’re talking about the deal that Yami Bakura and Mariku make. One of them make the cut. Then Mariku brings the hurt Ryou to his friends, and he gets taken to the hospital. The actual cutting isn’t shown at all in the anime, but the dubbers can’t cover it all up, because it’s an important part of the series.

Hmm… Well I guess Seto’s kind of similar to Trunks and Vejita. They’re all the “mean anti-hero” type…
Toby KiKami: Well that’s true, but God Cards are different. If someone unworthy tries to use a God Card, they’re struck down by the god itself. If not killed. Rishid was very lucky that he was only injured. Maybe he could have controlled the REAL card, but Ra didn’t like having the fake card used.
Kaiba was just surprised that the duel-bot managed to get the Lord of Dragon and Flutes of Summoning Dragon out so soon.
Yeah, I expect Kaiba stacked his deck. I’m sure they all do fairly often.
Seashell: Oh yes, that’s Mariku’s motive. They kind of hint at it in the dub, but they definitely don’t make it clear enough. They’d rather have him go off on the “I’m evil and I want power” track… Baka dubbers! All Mariku wanted at first was to go outside and see the sunlight and that. But when he saw how much better life could be out there, he didn’t want his family to have to live isolated, in the dark any more. He has a very strong sense of justice for those who have suffered under the Pharaoh.
Hmm, what kind of information on the past would you like? I’ll tell you what I can.
Wingleader Sora Jade: Well I don’t know if Mariku was LITERALLY afraid of the dark. I think his yami just meant that he was afraid of figurative darkness.
Yeah, Mai can drive! Apparently she’s about 24 years old… I’d place her somewhere between 17 and 24, I guess! Heh, she’s kind of robbing the cradle with Jou there, isn’t she? ^_^ Oh well, I’ve seen worse! But yeah, she has a little blue car.
Oh I’d be surprised if Ryou’s mind wasn’t a bit fluffy. He seems the type. ^_^ It wasn’t all fluff and cotton candy, though. The blue-green above the fluff gave a slightly sad feeling.
Hm, I wouldn’t be surprised! Bakura’s a very good duelist! Even Kaiba and Mariku recognized how great he was. I don’t know about Ryou… He knows a lot about the game, but he doesn’t seem to enjoy dueling as much as the others. But just being the top Occult duelist wouldn’t’ make Kaiba respect him. I mean really, how much respect do you think Kaiba has for people like Mako, Weevil, and Rex? Very little or none. No, he respects Bakura’s dueling because he’s seen it.
No, I don’t think Ryou could manage a God Card… But Bakura might be able to. At least Obelisk, I would think!
Well that’s a possibility, but look at Yami Mariku! He didn’t even exist in the past (or if he did, he certainly wasn’t royalty), and the Eye of Horus is ALWAYS on his head. I think peasants believed in the gods too, though.

Oh no, Mariku doesn’t really have much of a problem with Yuugi. In fact, he doesn’t want much to do with the Pharaoh’s vessel. He even gets rather pissed off when Yuugi takes over in the duel against Jou (controlled by Mariku), because he just wants to kill Yami, not really Yuugi.
Hm, that’s interesting! I’d never heard about the pecking order of where you sit in the car before! ^_^
Well, Shaadii’s distantly related to the Ishtars… I think their clan broke off from his long, long ago. And I was thinking the other day, Mrs. Ishtar found baby Rishid left by their well, so what if Shadi or his family left him there? Because they’re so cool and they live in Egypt too. No other reason. ^_^
Oh it’s the Eye of Horus. One of Horus’s eyes was torn out (by Set, I think), and that’s the Eye that we see. He got it back though, don’t worry.
Well come on, would you want to hang around your arch-enemy all day? Neither do Yami Bakura or Yami Yuugi. But they clashed a lot more in ancient times!

Well yeah, when all he can remember ever experiencing is Yuugi’s mind, I would think he’d be nicer in the present!
Ha! And you’re a Yami Yuugi fan? ^_^ But yeah, it would make things cool if he turned evil and then either died or vanished. If that happened, it would just end with Yuugi and his friends still playing games, with Yuugi feeling sad, but grateful that he had known Yami.

Crossover Authoress: Ha, I could write a long essay on just Yu-Gi-Oh alone! But I spread it over lots of anime, manga, and video games. And the teacher loved it, except that I didn’t quote my sources at all (because I didn’t really USE them). Er, well actually, the teacher gave us all semester. I just forgot about it until two days before it was due. ^_^ If I weren’t so lucky, I’d be in big trouble!

Anime*2000: Yep… Seto saved Anzu. He threw a Blue-Eyes White Dragon card into that black-haired Ghoul’s hand, making him drop the remote control he was going to use to drop a huge crate on Anzu. It was quite cool. ^_^
Well, at first Yami did nothing when he knew perfectly well what Yami Mariku was doing to Mai. But then he went over and talked to Mai, kind of making her snap herself out of it.
Oh I don’t think Mariku’s really afraid of the literal dark. Just figuratively. Maybe he was afraid of the literal dark when he was little, but I don’t know.
Ooh, really? I’ll have to listen next time I see the opening! ^_^ I know there’s really beautiful music when Ra is summoned in the Japanese version.

Well I agree that Yami can be cool, but he does tend to stand there while people are getting in trouble. If he doesn’t cause the danger in the first place.
After Battle City, there’s more dueling… And Pegasus and Rebecca return in the anime, plus some new people. In the manga, they go straight to finding Yami’s memory.

- Aw, they cut out the scene where the three Ghouls beat up "Namu"... They punched him and then all ganged up and kicked him over and over. Too bad, that made his deception seem more realistic.
- Kaiba wasn't really going on about how pathetic Jounouchi was. He did wonder why he was helping Yuugi, though.
- The three hunting Ghouls don't talk NEARLY that much. Rarely at all! Neither does Rishid!
- That's quite an acrobatic little Ghoul, isn't it?
- Is it just me, or did that short Ghoul lose some weight all of a sudden?
- I knew it! Ha, I knew they'd make the losers of the mask-duel fall into the Shadow Realm! Dubbers are SO stupid! Hee hee, that's just so ridiculous...
- For those of you who'd like to know what was REALLY going on, there were explosives attached to each big pane of glass. When a person's life points reach zero, the explosive goes off. And the person falls. Not to the Shadow Realm, just to splat on the floor below. ^_^
- Oh the Light Mask (Lumis) told Yami his name, he could at least use it instead of calling him "Rare Hunter."
- Those two Ghouls work together very well.
- Heh, did you see the overdone shine on the "Masked Doll"'s chest?
- "World's Greatest Duelist"? Kaiba's getting way ahead of himself! There are at least a couple of people better than him that he's met. And more that he hasn't!
- Okay, now I have a 24-hour, almost 7 days a week job this summer, going from June to the beginning of August. And then I’m going to study in Japan for the first semester of the school year. So as you might imagine, I probably won’t have a lot of time to rant… Which is all right when there aren’t any new episodes, but I know there will be! So I have a plan… If any of you would like to take over my rants for me just for that period of time, please send me an e-mail talking about why you‘d make a good ranter. I have one person in mind, but if she doesn’t want to do it, then I open it to the rest of you. I know who’s ranting material from your reviews. Oh, and I don’t mean to be discriminatory, but it would probably be better if you were from the United States, because otherwise everyone’s schedule just gets messed up. And I think it’s a given that you have to be able to watch at least the Saturday episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh regularly. So… I guess anyone who’s interested, just e-mail me with some sort of application-thing. And I will tell most of you “NO!
