Author’s Notes: And now I‘ve seen up to episode 92 subtitled. I wasn‘t paying really close attention through some of the later episodes, but I know I‘ll watch them again and rant more. ^_^ I had an interesting predicament to work out this week… On Tuesday afternoon, I was informed that I had a 10-15 page research paper due on Thursday afternoon. Heh, yeah, the other people in my class laughed too. But thankfully, I had the foresight to choose to write it about basically how American translators change anime, manga, and Japanese video games. So yeah, a whole huge research paper of a rant! With fake resources that I just used to make it look like I didn‘t know everything I know already. ^_^ Eee, fun. Well not exactly

Bakura: Indigo doesn‘t own Yu-Gi-Oh, but I will own all of the Millennium Items! And if you think you can stop me, I‘ll just take your soul!

Rantings of a Rabid Yu-Gi-Oh Fan: 25

Lori Kimaya: Yep, that’s “Duelist of the Roses.”
Rrg, I know, the toy commercials are so dumb…
Yu-Gi-Oh Monopoly…? Yeah, probably!
Well Malik IS trying to take over the world, but that’s because he’s seen what life under “Pharaoh Yami”’s rule is like, and he doesn’t want anyone else to have to suffer like that, especially his family.
Well Bakura was the only surviving member of a village that the Pharaoh’s forces destroyed. So he’d be bitter about that. But he doesn’t really explain himself much… I’d like to know his motives too, though!

Trupana: Yeah, I know Yuugi and Yami are the same height in the manga, at least. Yami’s taller in at least some parts of the anime, though!
Well you know, genes are completely randomly selected. Isis and Malik aren’t likely to look identical or anything. Isis looks like their mother, who had long straight black hair but golden-green eyes (I think), and Malik looks like their father, with looser pale hair and purple eyes.
Hm… Well to tell you the truth, I like any couple if it’s explained well. And well-written. I guess on its own, I can see Seto/Serenity working, but there would have to be a lot of time to work up to it. Ha, that’s still so cool that I’m your muse. ^_^ I hope I’m doing a good job!

Toby KiKami: Hm… I’m not sure! The Black Magicians are either purple or red, so I see very little black about them either! But I guess they just meant it in terms of “black magic.”
Heh, well I think Kaiba stacks his deck sometimes. I think all of them do occasionally, on the off-chance that their opponent will forget to shuffle! But Kaiba might be using the heart of the cards a bit too.
Eh, I think all the voice actors do a few insignificant voices on the side. ^_^
Ha, that‘s a shadow on Yami Bakura‘s upper lip, not a mustache! …And the Lord of Dragons‘ eyes. I seem to remember them being vaguely Shadi-like, though!

Ayrrie: You’re right! I wonder why “The Little Mermaid” gets to wear seashells, but not the Red Archery Girl? Well, I guess in the first case it was just like a bikini top. But the Red Archery Girl JUST had two seashells. Nothing else connecting them or anything.
Well the Man-Eater Bug doesn’t really TALK. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a voice.
No, no, Mokuba just knows that his brother can beat a dueling robot. He IS very good, and Mokuba has a lot of faith in him.
Well it did seem a little nasty at the time, but I’m sure Malik had Pandora’s girlfriend waiting elsewhere, or he would have found her. If Pandora had won.
…And Isis is trying to save Malik from the horrible fate she sees for him too, but I think she still puts the destiny she sees, and the Pharaoh’s return, first…
Hm… I got the impression that Silent Doll just internalized his suffering and was so traumatized that he just kind of… wasn’t quite all there, I guess. But I guess his mind could have been shattered.

JaguarKitty2006: I’m not quite sure why Yami has to leave when he regains his memories. Maybe he has to go back to his own time, or go elsewhere to become the Pharaoh. Or just go back to become the Pharaoh in his memory world or something. I don’t know!
Ha, you’re right, Yami Bakura’s kind of like Inu Yasha! But they’re dog ears, not cat ears. ^_^
Yeah… Lots of anime characters are morons. ^_^ Or at least vastly unobservant!
Ha, no, Jounouchi was all for standing there banging on the Puzzle’s chain all day. Finally Yami decided that if he left it up to Jounouchi, they’d all burn to death. ^_^

Amiasha: Ah, I really enjoyed your last review! Heh, everyone should comment on other peoples’ responses sometimes!
Yeah, I know Yami summons Osiris, and a few other monsters. It would make sense if Osiris was his Ka, but I don’t know! And I watched that clip with Kuriboh! Aw, it was so cute! ^_^ And the ones with little Malik, too! Eee, they’d better come out with the next box-set of DVDs soon so I can get that. ^_^
Really? I thought they were only to episode 150 or so. Hm, I can’t wait to see the later stuff! I don’t know, I wouldn’t mind a bittersweet ending… Heh, I certainly wouldn’t mind Yami Yuugi disappearing, though I’m not quite a fan of him…
When Yami told Jounouchi how to get the Puzzle out of the wall, his image appeared in front of the Puzzle, and his voice spoke to Jounouchi. I’m not sure if Jou actually saw him or if that was just for the viewers’ benefit, though. Maybe he just doesn‘t want to talk to anyone else! Seto‘s his rival, and Jounouchi‘s his host‘s best friend, and pretty much is own best friend too.
Ah, cool! You should write a fanfic about Shadi and Pegasus like that! I’d read it! ^_^ And I’m converting the Yu-Gi-Oh fans of Fanfiction.net to Shadi fans, too! So people would like it, I’m sure! Eee, sounds so neat!
Well, I think all Yami’s traps were already there, but still, he just plunked poor Shadi down in the middle of them and told him to find his way through, though he knew how dangerous it was. He even sat there smiling when Shadi fell through the floor!
Kinky Pandora…? Hm, I’ll have to listen for that next time I see it… ^_^
Ha, Yami IS a brat! You’d think that as Pharaoh, he should care about his people more! But no, he just sits there and watches while they get hurt or killed. If he doesn’t cause it in the first place! If he’s going to really regain his memory and be Pharaoh again, he’d better learn to care about random people, even ones who don’t agree with him, more!

Yami Mariko: Yeah, the manga’s more consistent with drawing people! But think about it, they have to draw each animation cell! That can’t be easy!
I think you’re right. Sealing away the Shadow Games was a good thing, but I have a feeling Yami Yuugi did plenty of bad things as Pharaoh too. So when he gets his memories back, Yuugi will duel him and win, and he‘ll go back to being good, and he‘ll realize he shouldn‘t be doing all this, and he‘ll disappear. ^_^
I’m not sure if Yami Bakura will really die… Though I’m sure Yami Yuugi would try to kill him. I hope not, though!

Anime*2000: Yes, the god Osiris replaced Ra… And the Pharaoh is supposed to be Osiris’s living incarnation.
No, being wiped form history doesn’t bug Yami too much right now. It seems to bother Isis a bit, though.
Heh, that’s true, a sparrow did land on Silent Doll’s shoulder, so I’m sure the pigeons would enjoy him too. ^_^

Crossover Authoress: Yeah, I’ve seen other people rant about Yu-Gi-Oh too. And some of them are really good! But others aren’t. Heh, I’m glad you like mine! ^_^ I try!
Ah, cool! I like the idea of Pegasus being sealed in the Eye and it getting passed to Otogi!
Heh, well I’m just going by the stereotypical things I’ve heard about Wales. Some people don’t even realize it’s there, and it’s either supposed to be a magical place or a land full of backwards country-people. ^_^ That all sounds rather Shadi-ish to me. Heh, I’m slightly Welsh too, and Scottish, so either way I could be related to the dub Shadi… ^_^
Hm, I’ve been to that site before. I didn’t realize it wasn’t meant for Americans, though! That’s dumb! I mean, I know Americans are stupid and all, but what’s the harm in letting us look at things as long as we don’t touch?
Ha! Yep, Yami was just sulking because Yuugi wasn’t supporting him completely. ^_^ You’re right, the world is doomed!
Yeah, we get commercials for the bad-quality action figures and such too. They’re really quite horrible!
Ah, you’re right about the blood! I learned that in my high school anatomy class (that was a great class, I wish I could have that teacher again!), but I wasn’t thinking of it. Yep, it would be extremely oxygenated up there.
I think later on (either in the anime or manga) Yuugi fuses his Black Magician with the Buster Blader. If you go to ebay and search for “Yu-Gi-Oh Magician Tin” you’ll find some of the American Dark magician ones, but you should find a couple with Yami Yuugi standing in front of that fusion monster. It’s really cool-looking.
Yeah, Yami Yuugi wants EVERYONE to do as he says, not as he does.

Yami Nikki: Heh, I thought it was pretty disturbing when I first heard Brock’s voice come from Kaiba, too. ^_^
Oh, you don’t like DDM? I’ve never played it, and it looks complicated, but it looks fairly fun too.

- Ooh, Kaiba's starting to believe in the "power of cooperation" when he and Yuugi duel the two masked Ghouls (that'll be the next dubbed battle).

- Ha, Kaiba tried to set the two Ghoul partners against each other... and did a good job of it, too!

- Hey, in that mask-duel, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon actually looks... white for a while! Not blue!

- Ha, Kaiba isn't heartless. He got the light-mask Ghoul to attack his Blue-Eyes White Dragon instead of Yuugi, but he also asked it to forgive him.

- The God Cards' text is written in English, with the exception of what's below Ra's picture.

- Wow, the direct attack of a God Card must hurt. A lot.

- Cool! ^_^ The dark-mask Ghoul got the glass under him blown up, but he had a parachute under his robes. ^_^ Now that's a resourceful Ghoul!

- Ha, Malik called Seto "Kaiba-kun"! ^_^ The familiarity must bug Kaiba quite a bit!

- Heh, Seto and Mokuba completely freaked out when Yami told them what he knew of his past! Especially Mokuba! Though Seto just thought Isis had brainwashed Yuugi. Wouldn't it be funny if at the end of the series, they learned that the whole story WAS just made up by Isis? ^_^

- Sometimes when people start laughing maniacally, I'm tempted to join in! ^_^ Especially Pegasus and Malik!

- Ha, for a while my subtitles were calling Shizuka "Wheeler" and Jounouchi "Serenity!"

- I love Kuriboh! It has so much more personality than a lot of monsters out there!

- Malik seemed upset when Yuugi took over for Yami when they were dueling the mind-controlled Jounouchi. He wanted Yami to die, not Yuugi.

- Finally, in the Malik/Jounouchi vs. Yuugi duel, Yuugi included Ryou among his friends! And later in a dream Jounouchi had after Ra struck him down, he thought of Ryou as a friend as well. Yay!

- Heh, Mai's quite a reckless driver... ^_^

- WOW! Seto was so cool and heroic when he saved Anzu from being crushed by a huge box a Ghoul was going to drop on her in the controlled-Jounouchi vs. Yuugi duel! ...And then she thanked MOKUBA for unlocking her restraints and ran off...

- Hey, Shizuka's a good swimmer. Fast, too.

- Kaiba called Jou "stupid enough to be admirable" after his mind-controlled duel with Yuugi! Ha, I like that. ^_^

- ...Then when Jounouchi was overcome by guilt, Mai told him "Don't play the woman"! Oh wow, that episode's just full of great lines!

- Yami told Yuugi that Yuugi would surpass him some day... I look forward to that day!

- Ah cool, Malik has a mental connection to Ryou and Bakura now!

- Heh, Ghost Kotsuzuka (Bonz) & co. tried to scare other duelists into giving them their Duel Disks and Puzzle Cards, but that didn't work on Yami Bakura!

- Hee hee... When Yami Bakura declared a dark game against Ghost Kotsuzuka, the mist that came up was hot pink. ^_^

- Aw, Ryou's mind (where Bakura and Malik met to talk while Ryou was in the hospital) is all blue-green and fluffy with clouds.

- Heh, Yami Bakura refers to himself as "ore-sama" (honorable me/I). Don't do that if you go to Japan, they don’t like arrogance. ^_^

- Hee hee, Yami Bakura started telling ghost stories about a "head grave" right before he brought out a headless knight monster, and it scared Ghost Kotsuzuka. ^_^

- Rrg, I can't wait to learn some Japanese so I don't have to rely on evil dubs and faulty subtitles!

- Ah, the ninja battle with Mai and the guy who wanted to marry her is cool!

- Ha, all eyes turned to stare at Jounouchi when he declared that he, in addition to the Hollywood guy who wanted Mai, deserved Mai too. ^_^

- Ooh, Rishid's good at looking scary and dark! And everyone's convinced that he's the "evil Malik" at first.

- Aw, Mokuba and Seto let the "cheerleaders" come on Battle Ship with the others! How nice! Though after Yuugi and Malik got there, Seto was ready to leave before Isis arrived.

- I want to see Bakura face Kaiba... When Bakura dueled Yuugi, Kaiba seemed to have a lot of respect for him.

- HA! Honda and Otogi fight over Shizuka a lot. And Jou just wants to be left alone with her. ^_^

- Heh, Jounouchi was scared at just sweet little Ryou talking about his occult deck. ^_^

- Isis said in the first round of the Battle City finals that an evil man would be fighting... Yami Bakura, of course...

- Ryou was nervous about being the first contestant, but Bakura was excited. ^_^

- When he was watching Rishid duel Jounouchi, Malik held the Rod right behind his back! I know he was standing behind the others, but they didn't see it! How blind they are!

- It's amazing how sentimental Jou gets about Insector Haga when he uses the Insect Queen. He always hated Haga!

- If Rishid hadn't used Ra just to prove ht was Malik, he wouldn't have been struck down, and would have won...

- For that matter, if Yami Bakura had put out some defense monsters more often, he might have won too!

- Shadi brought Pegasus into the Ishtars' house to take pictures of the God "cards" on the tablet there. And there were still people there, though no one I recognized. Not very polite, but part of destiny, I guess. So oh well.

- Malik had big pupils when he was little... See? Pupils = innocence.

- They have such beautiful music when Ra is summoned...

- When Malik goes yami, I think his shirt and pants switch colors...

- When Yami Malik started to erase Mai's memories, Yami Yuugi STOOD there, STARING! ...Then he entered the darkness and told Mai that her loneliness was only an illusion. ...Then he left and said she was on her own! Gah!

- The more I see of Mai, the more I like and respect her. She's been through a lot, but she still manages to be an amazingly cool, great person!

- Besides Malik, Yuugi, and Kaiba, who else do you think could control a God Card? Or for that matter, do you think Kaiba could control Ra? I don't think so, but maybe...

- Bakura never gets the Eye of Horus on his forehead. I wonder why?

- You know, Malik and Seto have more in common than you'd think! In the past, priest Seto had the Rod. And the priest of the Eye, who was priest Seto's father, was reincarnated into Malik and Isis's father. Both of them had cruel fathers/step fathers, and both of them killed their fathers/step-fathers. And of course, both can control God Cards, both are very powerful, and both control large organizations, among other things.

- Jounouchi really has no great, noble cause to duel for anymore...

- Rishid agreed to use Ra, though it was dangerous, because Malik told him it would mean he was accepted into their family. That's all Rishid ever wanted. But Malik didn't know that Ra would strike him down. He thought Ra would let Rishid control it through a fake card.

- Using the God Cards can kill an unworthy person. I'm glad Rishid was only injured, at least!

- When Rishid summons the false God of Ra, Malik’s Duel Disk arm starts shaking and he says he senses great anger and hatred. I think his yami influenced him into telling Rishid to use Ra, just a bit. Because Yami Malik can't come out while Rishid (who Malik trusts above all else) is conscious. Don't assume that Malik meant to hurt Rishid like that, because he didn't.

- Yami Malik says Malik is afraid of the dark, but he himself loves darkness very much.

- Yep, Cyndia (Cecelia) got sick and died when Pegasus was seventeen (though I don't always trust the numbers the subtitles give me).

- Yami Yuugi could have just told Shadi, "No, I didn't steal the eye" instead of sending him into his mind. I think if he just said so, Shadi would have believed him with he Scales and Ankh to help.

- On Battle Ship, Shadi said all the Items were there. So he DID have the Scales somewhere under his robes!

- Here’s a nice website with a few really cool movie clips! You really need to go look if you can. http://www.gamergab.com/staff/ken/index.html Thanks for the link, Amiasha!

- It would hurt to have the side of your eye pierced like Silent Doll does! *cringes*

Well, that’s all for a while, unless the evil dubbers decide to show another new episode! Which I would like! ^_^ Endnote: In your review, wherever you want a paragraph break, with a clear line in between, type this < P> but without the space.
