Scale: How could a moron like Indigo own Yu-Gi-Oh? Go away lawyers, or I’ll send you to Anubis…
Before I answer anyone’s stuff… I knew the Exodia cards weren’t real! But still, that was a pretty nasty thing to do.
Lori Kimaya: My icons blink…? Not in front of me, they don’t! Sneaky little things…
The Rare Hunter just disappears, never to be seen or mentioned again.
Nope, in our version, Yugi and Tea were supposed to be going to a soccer game. Stupid dubbers.
Killing Perfection: Well hopefully Malik’s voice actor is getting better with time… The others did, so we can only hope that his does too.
Hmm, good point about Yugi being in a card, and unable to be dueling. But I think his bond to the Puzzle is probably stronger than the one to the card that Yami Bakura made. I’m not sure though, that IS weird.
So glad you like my muses (Scale: If you ever do that again, you’ll be nothing more than a pile of ashes!!
Lady Kalan Kaiba of Conte: Yep, Yami Bakura’s voice actor also does Ryou Bakura, Yugi, a few others on the show, Giovanni, and Tracey. Scary, huh?
Well, I wouldn’t expect the Yamis to have much of a life, living inside gold objects for thousands of years…
Aw, Ryuzaki’s not bad at all! Just because he doesn’t want to latch onto Yugi and suck up to him all day long, that doesn’t make him a bad guy!
Insane: I’ve heard Yami Bakura’s Japanese voice, and I don’t mind it. I think it’s kind of cool, actually. ^_^ His season 1 voice was deeper and sounded older.
Nyartal: Yep, the stupid American dubbers really pronounce Shadi’s name “Shoddy.” In a slightly Scottish accent, no less! When I get my DVDs (insert shrieks of excitement here), I’ll see what it really is.
Oh thank you so much for the bits of HTML, they helped SO much!!
I heard about Malik being “Namu” for a while, so that’ll probably be changed to Terrence. *sigh* Oh well. I can’t wait to see how nice and cute he acts. ^_^
Well of course the new theme song can’t compare to the Japanese ones. Stupid American dubbers…
Hmm, you’re right, Yami Yugi does sometimes sound like Mewtwo. I think Kaiba’s voice is just fine as long as he doesn’t try to show any emotion with it. When he raises his voice, it’s just horrible. ^_^
My theory on UK manga and anime (although I don’t know anything about this and am probably horribly wrong) is that after things come to America and get a foothold of some kind (and are horribly hacked apart by dubbers), they then get sent to the UK and other such places. Where the people THERE further mangle them. Or maybe they fix them a bit? I’m not sure how good anime/manga is in countries besides the US and Japan.
Nano*Mecka: I have no idea why they changed “Esper” to “Espa.” Yet another case of stupid dubbers…
They banned Jinzo? Or just its effects?
Yeah, the anime part of Adult Swim is on really late. It starts with Lupin the 3rd (then InuYasha, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Cowboy Bebop) at 11 central time (that’s midnight eastern). And probably one of those times in other time zones too. I just tape the first two and watch them the next day. I need to start watching Cowboy Bebop again, I still haven’t seen the whole series…
Jaguar2006: Yeah, I guess Yami wanted Joey to beat Esper Roba himself…
Mokuba rules! ^_^
The Swordsman of Landstar? Yeah, I think it was trying to be cute, but it just came off as being odd.
Yami Nikki: Yep, you have to duel Heishin at least twice. I can’t bet him the second time… He’s got loads of Gate Guardians, and I only have one Meteor Black Dragon (which always seems to be at the bottom of my deck).
Ah, I make Twin-Headed Thunder Dragons all the time! You fuse two thunders and a dragon, or two dragons and a thunder, or a Thunder Dragon with either a dragon or a thunder, or a strong (1600+ ATK points) one of either with the other.
I remember Sadin, he was cool.
I used to hate Weevil and Rex. But I like them both a lot now, especially Rex. ^_^
Anime*2000: I want a Skull Dice, they’re cute. My friend has one.
I want the Dark Magician card with the yellow hair the blue armor. He looks so cool.
Don’t worry, Bakura plays a huge part in Battle City! Ryou too, to a lesser extent. And Otogi (Duke) will come back to play the part of a minor cheerleader like Honda…
Esper Roba DID call his little brothers fools! I couldn’t believe it!
I guess I’ll get used to Malik’s dub voice. It’s getting better, I think. And I think Ryou’s got a cute voice, even if the English accent doesn’t quite suit Bakura so well… ^_^
I know Kazuki Takahashi has done some other manga, probably also shonen manga. I know he didn’t do InuYasha or Ranma ½, and I’m not sure about the others. But I’m sure there are other “Takahashi”s running around Japan.
Schala85: I’d like a Gameboy Advance. Not only for Yu-Gi-Oh games, but Zelda and Breath of Fire too. But I have no money. Well, I do, but I’m cheap. And I need to save it for Japan. ^_^
I like Skull Dice too! Graceful Dice didn’t impress me all that much either.
Don’t worry, I think after this week Yugi/Yami will meet up with the next freaky opponent… Pandora and his off-color Dark Magician.
I suspect Seto is lurking in his private office, plotting Yugi’s demise by Obelisk… Or something of the sort. Going on some kind of power trip. Those are fun. ^_^
Seena: Ah, thank you for the HTMLing! That’s two long but easy to read reviews I have! More to come in the future, hopefully!
I remember Yami Yuugi using the Magician of Faith’s ability in his duel with Yami Bakura, but Mai just explained it as if every card did that. Dumb dubbers…
Actually, Pegasus made some changes in the rules for Duelist Kingdom, so after that they used more normal rules, I guess.
Ha, if you tried to spit on Yami Yuugi, it’d just fly over his head. ^_^
You can try video game stores for the SNES Final Fantasies, but the most reliable source would probably be the internet. You should get them, they’re really great games.
Shenya: Shadi’s great for small roles and explaining things/doing things with the Millennium Items.
Hmm, how long did it take Pokemon to get to Finland (assuming that it ever did)? It should take about that long, I think. Or longer. Who knows? Takes them long enough just to mangle things up enough to show it to the stupid Americans…
Yami Mariko: I haven’t actually seen Yami Bakura being weighed on the Scales myself, but I have it form a pretty good source. It may be wrong (hopefully!), but I can see it happening. I think if it did happen though, it didn’t work.
Blah, no. I’m pretty sure I was wrong about Yami Yugi being a villain. Baka me… But yeah, I saw their Egyptian pictures! So cool! ^_^
Crossover Authoress: Yeah, when Malik meets Yugi and the group face to face, he calls himself Namu and acts really nice for a while. Watch, they’ll make him sound like an oily, evil little suck-up…
Yami coming out of the stone tablet IS pretty cool.
I think way long ago, the Ishtars and Shadi’s guardian clan were one, and then the Ishtars split off for some reason. So they both basically know all the same stuff and are equally good guardians (except for occasional homicidal children, apparently).
- I can’t believe they’re advertising for TV Guide Yu-Gi-Oh covers. That’s just wrong. Some things should be seen and not advertised…
- Takahashi likes dragons with two mouths, doesn’t he? The God Card Osiris, Twin-headed Thunder Dragon… Loads more, too.
- What’s your favorite God Card? I’m torn between Ra and Osiris, but Obelisk holds no interest for me.
- For pictures/translations from the latest manga in Japan, go here: Weekly Yu-Gi-Oh translations (or something like that). Such cool stuff…
- Apparently, Yuugi’s grandpa is the reincarnation of Simon Muran, who was the Pharaoh’s advisor and only appeared in the manga and video games. Ooh…
- Still waiting (quite impatiently, I might add) for Shonen Jump and my DVDs to come. Let me know when the third issue of Shonen Jump starts showing up, so I know when to start worrying.
- Yuugi hasn’t used Gaia the Fierce Knight in a while. Hmm….
- Did you know that Joey’s voice actor does Shadi’s voice too?
- If you notice, Ryou’s never quite portrayed as part of the group in any theme song (Japanese or American, if he’s included at all). Poor guy.
- Speaking of Ryou, he has a younger sister who died. I assume, judging by Ryou’s looks, that she was quite cute.
- Who’s your favorite Yami? Mine’s Bakura by far. Yuugi’s is too perfect, and Malik’s is too evil.
- Poor Rex, he really doesn’t do well in duels. I wonder how he got to the regional championships with Weevil?
- So Joey “duels by his own rules,” huh? Sounds like cheating to me, though I know he wouldn’t do that.
- Did Seto turn Domino City into one big dueling area? Is that legal? I’m sure it inconveniences the rest of the people.
- I wonder how far the dub will take the series…
- The Swordsman of Landstar looks silly.
- I didn’t mind it very much at first, but now Joey’s accent is getting on my nerves.
- Esper Roba should have given Rex back his Serpent Night Dragon! He’s not going to use it anyway!
- I wonder what Rex keeps in that bag he carries around.
- Good thing Croquet wasn’t standing too close to Pegasus when he dropped Keith out of the castle. “Oops. Oh well, one less staff member to worry about…”
- Eee, THREE new episodes next week! That’s what a Saturday SHOULD be!
- Joey keeps calling Esper Roba a “blue-haired freak.” It looks like more of a sea green to me.
- Yami should have either shouted some encouragement to Jeoy or gone to find his own duel.
- Serenity couldn’t have believed Tristan’s inaccurate play-by-play, could she?
- Hee hee, Tea almost broke Grandpa’s nose. ^_^
- Aw, those Scapegoats are so cute and fluffy!
- Ooh, that Roulette Spider is creepy. And weird. And kinda cool, too!
- Aw, Esper Roba’s cute when he’s not being nasty.
- I wonder how old Esper Roba is. He’s pretty short.
- Pandora’s Dark Magician is creepy… Did you see it in the commercials? The red one? Scary-looking…
Endnote: Remember! Wherever you want a paragraph break, with a clear line in between, type this < P> but without the space. Or if you just want to start typing on the next line without a line in between, type < BR> but again without the space. That would make things infinitely easier on me, thank you.
