Author's Notes: Not as many reviews as I'd get on Fanfiction.Net, but I expect that. Don't worry, I'd rather have quality over quantity any day! And I also don’t have as many rants as I usually have in this one, because I haven’t gotten to watch Yu-Gi-Oh as often. And by Ra, the fact that this guest book can’t even recognize a simple “return” key is REALLY annoying.

Ankh: Indigo still doesn't own Yu-Gi-Oh, but she just bought the DVDs online, so when they arrive, she’ll own those! ^_^

Rantings of a Rabid Yu-Gi-Oh Fan

Ayrrie: …Wow. That’s a lot. Close to 7 pages. Okay, let’s see here…
They just duel all day in school. No one really learns anything. ^_^
You’d think that at least Yuugi, being so into dueling, would realize that Seto was the top duelist in the country…
Yes, KaibaCorp specializes in magical elevators in addition to portable dueling systems.
They do have a problem with getting voices to match faces… I noticed that a lot with Pegasus.
Have you ever tried to draw “yami eyes”? It’s hard to get them to match…
I don’t think Season 1 is really connected to the rest of the series. Like the Escaflowne movie. Same characters, same world, but different stories.
Kaiba brought the monsters to life with machines. Pegasus did it with magic in his first duel with Yugi.
They get so many life point totals wrong…
Heh, Al Queda sending Yuugi dueling equipment… ^_^
Well, some high school students have to be freakishly tall to make up for Yugi’s lack of height.
Actually, Bakura isn’t an albino. His eyes are too dark for that. But yeah, I know what you mean! White hair, pale skin, and an off-white sweater kind of stick out in the shadows…
Nope, they never sleep! Or go to the bathroom, aside from some mention of it they cut out in the dub. Or bathe/shower, aside from that one time…
They even have a major mistake on the starter deck boxes! They use “millennia,” the plural, as if it were singular. Bakas…
Well, I’m not sure about Yu-Gi-Oh, but in Magic: The Gathering, you can’t have any more than 7 cards in your hand at the end of your turn. You can have 8 or more at the beginning.
How could Yugi hide the Millennium Puzzle? It’s not nearly flat like the Ring or anything. The only one harder to hide would be the Scales. Those things are big!
Well I agree with some of your character rants… Joey really used to be a street kid, though. I think they pronounce Isis “Ishizu” anyway. Yami Yugi has his share of stupid lines… And too many honor, friendship, and heart of the cards speeches!

MaidenoftheMoon: Eep, I sent out for my subscription last week. I hope I get mine… It might just take a while, that’s happened to me before.
Yeah, it’s 3000 years in the original version. And the manga. I see absolutely no reason to change it in the dub. That’s another sign of the dubbers’ pure stupidity.
I don’t know, I think Yami Bakura’s voice is pretty good. One of the better ones, I’d say. I think he sounds cool in the Japanese version too, but then most of them do. ^_^
They edit all the blood out, like where Pegasus got (and lost) his Eye, because here it’s supposed to be a little kids’ show. Never mind that even a little kid can figure out that if you have your eye pulled out of your socket it’s going to be covered in blood…

Seena: Sorry! I know it’s annoying, it bugs me too. That and all those pop-up ads I keep getting… Bleh.
Nah, I don’t like Exodia much either.
Yuugi being taller than his Yami would be funny!
I think Haga’s probably nearsighted, just because that’s more common.
Hee hee… You missed Ryouta calling Haga a guppy. ^_^
I don’t see Shadi as the type who likes having his picture taken… or his portrait painted!
Actually, I don’t think Shadi appears until issue 3 of the manga… it could very well be someone else.
Ah, correction. Mokuba DOES mean “wooden horse.” But Kaiba means “suffering” and Seto is “Sea horse,” I’m sure. Because they can both suffer, but each is a different type of horse. But let me look that up… Hmm, my Japanese dictionary gives me completely different words for “sea horse“ and “turmoil.” Suffering, too. One word for turmoil is “sodo,” but that‘s the closest anything comes…Maybe it‘s Chinese instead of Japanese or something?
I couldn’t believe Yami Yuugi tore up the Exodia cards!! There goes all the Rare Hunter’s hard work he did to get them if he’s even alive anymore…
Mariku called… Billy Bob!? HA! Oh wow, that’s hilarious, but only because it’s not true! ^_^

Yami Mariko: Well apparently lots of weirdoes out there think the same stuff! ^_^
I know in Japan, another season’s being made where Yami Bakura is the main enemy… And he eventually gets sent to Anubis by the Scales. But not by Shadi, it’s some huge guy. I don’t know. But unless the series ends there forever, I’m sure he’ll find a way to come back. ^_^ I think in the end, Yuugi gets all the Items eventually, though.
I noticed that yami Yuugi only changes his expression a few times! How boring… Maybe that’s another reason why I don’t like him much. He needs more expressions!
Well, Yami Yuugi IS rather feminine. But they’re also pretty young. And… they just are. Yeah. ^_^

Lori Kimaya: Exodia’s head attacking on its own would look strange…
Yeah, Yuugi always saying “Yu-Gi-Oh!” when he transformed was really annoying me.
You can definitely find Shonen Jump at Sun Coast (a video store), and at most really big bookstores, like Border’s or Barnes & Noble.
Yeah, in Japanese Malik’s names spelled “Mariku.” But it’s hard to tell sometimes, because they don’t use our alphabet, they have kanji and such instead. So I’m sure sometimes spelling translations get a bit warped. It’s still pronounced “Malik,” though, because of the way “R” substitutes for “L” and the silent “U” at the end.
…Blinkies? What do you mean? Everyone keeps talking about blinking, or moving things. As far as I know, the only thing I have anywhere on my website that moves at all is the dripping blood divider bar on my links page…

Kurai Chan: You’re right, Malik DOES sound like he’s about 30 in the dub. I know he’s a couple years older than the others, but still…
“Ishizu” bugs me too. I think that might be how they pronounce her name over in Japan, though. And I’m pretty sure that “Shoddy” is the right pronunciation for Shadi too. Poor guy. ^_^ But I guess “Shady,” the only alternative I can think of, wouldn’t exactly be great either.

Shenya: I think all anime fans should have an unlimited supply of money that they can only use to buy anime, manga, and related products. ^_^ Unfortunately, I’m poor… Or just cheap.
I’m so glad there’s a fair number of people around my age who are interested in Yu-Gi-Oh. Anywhere between 17 and 22 is closer to me, but far less common. I think after about 30 or so it might be kind of weird, but then that’s what I used to think about 20, too. Yep, I’ll be the 90-year old lady on the corner who goes down to the comic shop to buy her manga every month. ^_^

JaguarKitty2006: Yeah, Joey probably had to go to the bathroom or something. ^_^ Or he wanted to prove he could do things on his own again.
I couldn’t believe he tore up the Exodia cards either! He could have taken some. Or at least left them. Poor Rare Hunter, if he’s even alive and sane anymore, there goes all the work that went into getting the cards.

Seashell: Yeah, everybody looked a little different in the first season. Ryou has green eyes and Yami Bakura has red ones. Ooh, cool…
I wish Yami Bakura would get back into the episodes too! Heh, I was a fan of him already, but Seena’s corrupted me to his cause too. ^_^
Yami Malik’s scary… He IS pure evil! *shiver*
Ah, that was very long, exciting! Thank you! ^_^

Yami Nikki: Secretive, aren’t you? ^_^ I admire that. I always try to be sneaky, but everyone’s too dense to appreciate it.
The Rare Hunter’s in Forbidden Memories? I’m almost to the end (can’t seem to beat Heishin 2nd) and I haven’t seen him yet!
And no, Scale’s been amazingly good lately. So I won’t hit him. But I’m glad you like Ankh’s icon! I thought it was especially kawaii myself! ^_^

Nano*Mecka: Did you get to see any of Adult Swim? I think the new times are very inconvenient… I can’t stay up that late and still go to class early in the morning!
They still have the first season of Pokemon showing on Cartoon Network, but I guess they finished up Yu-Gi-Oh’s first season and decided to stop. I’m not sure sure exactly how far they got, because I didn’t have cable over Christmas break.
I think Serenity’s supposed to be around 14. I still wonder why she was so short…

Crossover Authoress: I like Seto’s purple trench coat he wore the day Isis came best too. ^_^
Shonen Jump is a really great magazine. In Japan, it comes out every week with over 10 different manga in it. It’s really cool. It just came to America, and we’ve got Yu-Gi-Oh, Yu Yu Hakusho, DragonballZ, One Piece, Sand Land, and Naruko manga in it. Next month’s will have Ruruoni Kenshin, too. Yeah, I hadn’t heard of a couple of those either, but they’re really good! Except DBZ, that doesn’t interest me a whole lot.

The Evil Laugh: I think the Rare Hunter was just knocked out because of what Malik did to him.
Ha, the Rare Hunter DOES look like the Disney version of Hades! Oh don’t tell me that’s an old movie. It wasn’t that long ago, was it? 1997 or so? I feel old now…
Of course, Shadi needs more fanfics, fanart, and… fans! He rules. I like some of the fics that make fun of him, though. Like… Oh, I can’t find it now. But somebody wrote a couple of really funny Bakura/Malik yaoi fics, and Shadi was a complete fruitcake in them. ^_^ I’m not opposed to laughing at my favorites. ^_^
Mokuba’s only ten, but who else would Seto trust with something big like that?
Seto let his power go to his head again…

Crimson Amnesia: Yeah, it’s obvious that Keith (and lots of other people) curse a lot. It probably WAS something like “you bastard.”
Ooh, you’re writing a fanfic inspired by my rants? I’ve done a couple of those! ^_^ They’re very good for inspiration. Let me know what it’s about and when you post it!
…YUGI doing an evil laugh!? Wow, that would be… scary? Disturbing? Wrong? Yep, all that and more.
I don’t have much information on Malik myself, but I’ll try to help if I can…

- At one point Rishid, Malik’s friend and servant, poses as him. I hope they don’t change HIS real name to Terrence! I’m paranoid about Terrencizing now…

- Did Bakura sneak on the Duelist Kingdom boat like Honda and Anzu, or did he knock out the guards, or get a special invitation to go but not duel or something?

- The new theme song seems to have more people than Duel Monsters, unlike the old one.

- Some of the newer tiny figures look pretty good. Too bad ones like Pegasus and the Dark Magician don’t…

- Eew, Esper Roba has a horribly annoying voice. I imagined him with a fairly cute voice. Stupid dubbers…

- What kinds of cards does the Reaper of the Cards wear around his neck?

- What does the kanji on the Flame Swordsman’s sword mean?

- Ack, they showed “Shining Friendship” again! *hiss!*

- Mai let Tea take a card back form the graveyard because her card was flipped over. Has anyone else ever gotten to do that?

- The day Keith stole the Puzzle, Yugi and Tea were really on their way to school. But little American children can’t see people skipping school now, can they?

- Malik called his Rod his “collection” like Bakura did when he only had the Ring. Again, not much of one.

- How many random warehouses have dueling arenas in them?

- Just because Keith’s the only person Yuugi’s ever seen use a machine deck doesn’t mean it couldn’t have been someone else…

- The area of ocean that Keith fell into looked like it could have been shallow. He’s lucky to be alive, I guess.

- Keith needed the Zera the Mant card in his hand to summon it with the ritual card, but Yuugi didn’t need the Magician of Black Chaos to summon it?

- If they didn’t try to give Yami Bakura a British accent, his dub voice wouldn’t be too bad.

- Okay, for some reason I’ve been really sympathetic towards the Rare Hunter lately, so here’s a big rant for him. Can you think of ANYTHING more dishonorable than tearing up your opponent’s best cards after a duel? First of all, if the Rare Hunter was dead, it would have been more useful to Yuugi to take his Exodia cards, or even the whole deck. If the Rare Hunter was still alive after Malik finished with him, he should have left all the cards but the Red Eyes Black Dragon alone. If the Rare Hunter’s still in any condition to duel, there goes his strategy and all the hard work he put into getting THREE sets of Exodia. Ack, poor guy…

- Yes, I finally broke down and bought the DVDs. So when they arrive, I’ll have plenty to rant about! Has anyone ever seen the first season for sale, with the green-haired Seto and all that?

- I wonder what the yamis do all day in their soul rooms? Yuugi’s probably thinks of new dueling strategies, and Bakura’s probably plots revenge or how to get the rest of the Items, but is there anything else?

- Aw, Rex wanted to make sure his Serpent Night Dragon would have a good home! Poor dragon…

- Hee hee, Rex rules. ^_^

- Heh, Honda’s so computer illiterate.

- Esper Roba almost sounds like Mandark form “Dexter’s Lab.” Especially when he laughs.

- Ack, I watched the new episode with closed captions, and they called him ESPA Roba! Rrg, it’s wrong!

- Anyone ever played Final Fantasy III for the Super Nintendo, or FFVI for the Playstation? The magical beings that were the source of magic were called Espers.

- Esper Roba needs to change his clothes. So do his brothers. Look at all those pink and white hand-me-downs…

- Yami’s eyes are smaller than they used to be. I think they look better like this.

- When will Otogi come in again? I want to see more of him.

- Why didn’t Yami go confront Esper Roba’s brothers when he saw them cheating?

- Eee, Mokuba’s so cool. And cute!

- Heh, that one little brother of Esper Roba’s needs to put down the lollypop once in a while.

- Do Esper Roba’s brothers have names?

- Wow, Mokuba seems to almost be hero-worshipping Yugi/Yami the way he does Seto. Their eyes are looking more similar, too. Oh no, he’s becoming a mini-Yami! Seto won‘t be happy about that! ^_^

- Heh, I’d like to see Joey duel his way out of a paper bag…

- Eew, Jinzo’s pretty nasty-looking. I have loads of Jingo #7 cards in Forbidden Memories, and they’re REALLY weak.

Endnote: Well… Yeah. Not much to say. I can’t wait for my DVDs to arrive! And if you know anywhere I could get the REAL first season, please let me know. I’ll keep an eye out for it in Japan when I go, too.
