Hi! I really needed to start a page where I could just talk about miscellaneous things that have nothing (or not much) to do with a specific anime or video game, and thus this page was born. You can ignore this if you want, but I think it's important stuff...
Rant #1 (Japan)
Okay, let me give you some background for this one. I've always loved video games and anime, and where do the best (or only) ones come from? Japan, of course! So I was excited when I learned that my college had a program for students to take a semester or more at a certain university in Japan. I mean, wow! That chance doesn't come along every day! And all the tuition and financial aid transfers over, so my parents would still pay for it... Heh heh... Still, I hear things are a bit expensive over there. So my plan as of now is to not spend any money on anything more than doing laundry and developing film until I get to go to Japan, that way I'll have plenty of money for the anime stores and Final Fantasy sections of stores and UFO catchers and such. And their yummy snacks like lemon water, pancakes and bean curd (it tastes like chocolate, really!), and octopus chips. Yum. Now normally, I'm a rather greedy and money-grabbing person. I have my decency, though. Normally I'd never ask for money from someone else except jokingly or knowing they wouldn't do it anyway. But this time my greedy and desperate side pushed my nice reserved side off a cliff and I'll probably be asking anyone I see for money. I might set up a jar on the street corner or something. ^_^ Not really, of course, but you get the point. I need money. Don't we all? Anyway, I guess that's all. It'd probably be next year.
Rant #2 (Sleep)
I love sleep! Yay! When I was but a little Indigo, I used to get up as early as I could every morning and play in my room or read a book or something. Sometimes I'd just lay there. Now that I am a mostly-grown Indigo, I've come to appreciate my sleep. Especially in college! My roommate in my first year of college seemed to sleep very little (a couple of hours per night, if that much) and sleep quite a bit during the day. I don't see how she does it. But she's quiet at night and I'm quiet in the morning, so we got along for a while.
Rant #3 (Anime vs. Video Games)
I like both anime and video games. Some fans of only video games may find it slightly disturbing when I do nothing but anime updates for a long period of time. This doesn't mean that I have lost interest in video games! I still like them a lot! It's just that at the moment, my love of anime has been ignited and I'm enthusiastic about it right now. I still love video games just as much. And if you made me choose one of the two, I coudln't do it. Just wanted to reassure you.
Rant #4 (fanfiction)
I simply love fanfiction. There's nothing that will stoke the fire of my love for a certain anime or RPG like a good fanfic. I love romance, angst, and silliness especially. On my old Pokemon homepage, I said I'd accept anyone's fanfiction to post, and I did. I regretted that, because most of it wasn't very good. There's nothing that will dampen my interest in that anime/RPG and my website like a badly-written fanfic. I'm not saying I'm a great writer, because I'm typically not, but anyway... So that's why I will most likely NOT be asking for fanfiction or fanart contributions from anyone. I'll limit it to my own unless I see an absolutely wonderful one out there somewhere that I must have on my page. And in that case, I'll ask the author. Basically, don't call me, I'll call you. So I'll be happy to critique or edit your writing if I have the time, but don't throw it at me and expect it to be posted, because this time it won't be. Sorry. No offense. Go try Fanficiton.net, they're not picky.
Rant #5 (drawing)
As you may be able to tell, I like drawing. A lot. When I get an urge to be creative, I usually draw. Normally, I draw when I'm happy and write when I'm sad. I've tried to write when I'm happy occasionally, but it's just not very good. But anyway... When I draw fanart, I am usually thinking what I could tell a viewer about the particular piece I'm working on. Things like "Tseng's hand gave me lots of trouble, but Elena was even worse!" and "Whenever I draw people that size, they come out proportioned all wrong." or "Wow! Eriol's hands are perfect! I'll never be able to do that again!" Things like that. But to avoid sounding long-winded and boring, I cut the commentary down to a quick little description. So if you ever want to be bored out of your mind, e-mail me asking about a piece of work and I'll tell you every little detail I can remember. But they're my creations. They're important to me. I love to share my work with other people and get praise for it. Because no matter how much I tell myself I don't care what anyone else thinks, I really do.
Thanks for listening! I appreciate it! And please e-mail me with anything you have to say.
